How to Use a Thermometer Effectively

Taking temperatures can pretty much be quite confusing at times because you can never tell if you're doing it right. While it's also a big part of our daily lives to check for fever, keep track on body temperature and so on, it's important that everyone learns to use a thermometer effectively. Check out our best range of (Fever Thermometer) θερμομετρα πυρετου microlife.

As there are a few types available, the most common would be the mercury in glass thermometer that's widely used in clinics and hospitals. Before using it to check your temperature, make sure the reason in the glass is at room temperature or anything below that is fine too. Gently shake the thermometer until the reading goes down and only then can you use it to get the right reading.

Place it under the tongue for about 3 to 5 minutes and then remove it and read the scale. Now, the best way to do this would be to make sure the scale is at eye level so that you don't misjudge the position of the reading. If you find it hard to obtain the exact reading then place a white piece of paper behind the thermometer and you would be able to see it clearer. This only works for a mercury in glass thermometer.

If you're using an electrical one then it would be much easier, simply switch it on and place it under the tongue and when it has detected the optimum body temperature, the device will beep and the reading would be on the screen, ready to be noted.

On the other hand, if you're using a tympanic thermometer then it would be placed in the ear to obtain the body's temperature. To get the optimum results, point the tip of the thermometer towards the ear canal and not the lobe or ear wall and hold down on the button until it beeps.

Follow these simple steps and you would be able to use a thermometer the right way!
